WATERBORNE WHITE PRIMER based on MAINCOTE 100 WITH ASCONIUM-142DA

This document provides a guiding formulation for a waterborne white primer utilizing MAINCOTE 100 with ASCONIUM-142DA. Here's a breakdown of the formulation, process, and testing:

Guiding Formulation: WATERBORNE WHITE PRIMER

STEP 1:

• Process: Add in order with good agitation in the mill-base tank.
• Raw Materials:
  • Deionized Water
  • EDAPLAN 490 (Dispersing Agent, MÜNZING)
  • BYK 024 (Defoamer, BYK-Chemie)
  • AMP 90 (Neutralizer, ANGUS)
  • DPnB (Co-solvent, Dow Chemicals)
  • KRONOS 2190 (TiO2, KRONOS)
  • DURCAL 5 (CaCO3, OMYA)
• Procedure: Disperse with high shear rate for 10-15 minutes and set aside.

STEP 2:

• Process: Mix separately while stirring, and set aside.
• Raw Materials:
  • AMP90 (Neutralizer, ANGUS)
  • ASCONIUM-142DA (Anticorrosion Additive, ASCOTEC)

STEP 3:

• Process: Into the let-down tank, add in order progressively with continuous stirring.
• Raw Materials:
  • MAINCOTE 100 (Binder, DOW)
  • STEP-2 PREMIX
  • BYK024 (Defoamer, BYK-Chemie)
  • Deionized Water
  • DPnB (Co-solvent, Dow Chemicals)
  • ASCOTRAN-H10 (Flash-rust Inhibitor, ASCOTEC)
  • STEP-1 MILL-BASE
  • TAFIGEL PUR48 (Thickener, MÜNZING)
