SYNTHOESTER 1080 is used in combination with aliphatic or aromatic polyisocyanates for air- and oven-drying two-component coatings. These coatings are known for producing hard and chemically resistant films.
Properties:
Properties and Fields of Use: It is suitable for producing coatings with high resistance to chemicals when used with aromatic polyisocyanates. It can be pigmented with neutral pigments and fillers, but care should be taken with basic pigments and those containing soluble metallic compounds, as they may affect curing.
Mixing Ratio with Polyisocyanate: The recommended mixing ratio is provided based on the equivalent reaction of the reactive groups (NCO:OH = 1:1).
Dilutability: SYNTHOESTER 1080 can be diluted in any proportion with esters, ketones, and glycol ether esters. Aromatic compounds can also be incorporated in small amounts as extenders, but anhydrous solvents without hydroxyl groups are recommended.
Compatibility: It is compatible with various polyisocyanates, including Desmodur L, VL, IL, and N. It is also compatible with other SYNTHOESTER products.
Storage: It has an unlimited shelf-life when stored in closed containers protected from moisture.
