SETALUX® D A 163 X is a polyisocyanate cross-linking acrylic resin primarily used in combination with aliphatic polyisocyanates to formulate lightfast and weather-stable two-pack polyurethane coatings. Here are some key details:
Type:
Polyisocyanate cross-linking Acrylic Resin
Hydroxyl content: approx. 2.7% on solid resin
Form Supplied:
Approx. 63% in xylene
Specification:
Properties / Applications:
SETALUX D A 163 X is used for air- and force-drying topcoats, anti-corrosion coatings, and topcoats for steel in civil and hydraulic engineering applications. These coatings exhibit good weather stability, resistance to water, washing solutions, and chemicals. They remain stable up to approximately 150 °C, but yellowing may occur at this temperature.
Solubility / Thinnability:
SETALUX D A 163 X can be thinned to a resin content of 30% using ketones, esters, ether esters, toluene, xylene, and solvent naphtha 100. However, solutions formed must be tested for their storage stability. Only PU grade solvents should be used, and they should contain no other reactive impurities.
Compatibility:
It can be mixed with various polyisocyanates and other resins, but compatibility testing is recommended.
Storage:
Store in originally sealed containers at temperatures not exceeding 30 °C.
Shelf Life:
Standard shelf life is 730 days from the date of manufacturing. Shelf life may be extended upon re-testing by Quality Control.
