High glossy white WB two-pack PU topcoat, for metal, wood, plastics

This formulation is for an Industrial Coating labeled "Industrial Coatings EU SF 1.18." It's a high glossy white water-thinnable two-pack PU topcoat, designed for rapid drying on metal, wood, and plastic substrates. It's based on Synthalat WA 146 / Bayhydur 3100.

Components:

Component 1:

• Synthalat WA 146 (42% in water/DMEA)
• Borchi® Gen 0851
• Surfynol 104 BC
• Borchi® Gel 0625
• Borchi® Gel Thix 921
• Borchi® Gol LA 232
• Sachtleben R-KB-4
• Water

Component 2:

• Bayhydur 3100
• Dipropylene glycol dimethyl ether
• Butoxyl (Methoxy butyl acetate)

These components are mixed according to the specified process, including pre-dispersion and dispersion in a bead mill. After mixing, the formulation is allowed to rest for one day for deaeration.

Formulation Parameters:

• NCO: OH - ratio: 1.5:1
• Spray viscosity (DIN 53211-cup 4mm, at 23 °C): Approximately 30 s for A and 25 s for B
• Pendulum hardness (König method): After 1 day / 3 days / 7 days
• Haze and Gloss (20°/60° angle)
