Active Content: 42%
pH: 8
Specific Gravity: 1.31
Neutralization Type: Sodium
Solvent: Water
Description:
Dispersion paints often contain fillers or extenders, such as fine calcium carbonates and clays, which need to be easily dispersed in water-based systems without forming agglomerates or causing viscosity build-up. Traditional inorganic dispersants like phosphate-based ones may not adequately address this issue due to limitations in deflocculating effectiveness and poor temperature stability, which can affect long-term paint stability. Ecodis™ P 30 is specially formulated to overcome these challenges. It ensures complete dispersion of extenders and inorganic pigments, even at high solids contents, in systems with medium to high PVC.
Recommended Addition Level:
The required amount varies from 0.1% to 0.5% of active ingredients based on the total weight of pigments and fillers. Alternatively, formulation trials can begin with 0.4% to 0.5% of Ecodis™ P 30 on the total formulation weight.
Standard Packaging:
Available in:
Handling & Storage:
Store between 5°C and 40°C, protected from weathering. Once opened, reseal the packaging immediately after use. Use within 12 months from delivery under these conditions.
Processing Instructions:
Ecodis™ P 30 should preferably be added to water before pigment incorporation. The optimum level for each pigment blend can be determined by plotting the graph of viscosities of the pigment dispersion in water versus the amount of dispersant. The dispersant level corresponding to the minimum viscosity is chosen.
