EBECRYL® 1300

EBECRYL® 1300 is a thermoforming oligomer designed for UV thermoformable ink applications. It is intended to be used alongside the pigment grind oligomer, EBECRYL® 8413. This combination allows for the development of non-blocking thermoformable inks, which exhibit scratch and temperature resistance, as well as excellent adhesion to various plastic substrates without the need for corona discharge or flame pretreatment.

UV cured thermoformable inks based on EBECRYL® 1300 and EBECRYL® 8413 offer several performance properties:

• Thermoformability: Achieves draw ratios of 1 to 8 on polycarbonate sheets in external tests.
• Tack-free state after cure: Non-blocking systems
• Good temperature resistance
• Good scratch resistance
• Low shrinkage (1.2%)
• Suitable for first and second surface applications
• Excellent intercoat adhesion
• Good adhesion to various untreated plastic substrates including polycarbonate, polystyrene, PVC, polyester, acrylic, and PET-G.

Suggested Applications: Formulated products containing EBECRYL® 1300 are suitable for flat bed screen methods and are recommended for use in screen inks in various three-dimensional markets, including displays/signage/POP, vending machine panels, packaging, sporting goods, architectural applications, electronics, appliance nameplates, housing, toys, and novelty items.

Storage and Handling: Avoid exposing the product to high temperatures, direct sunlight, ignition sources, oxidizing agents, alkalis, or acids, as this may cause uncontrollable polymerization. Storage and handling should be in suitable containers, avoiding procedures that remove or displace oxygen from the material. Adequate ventilation is necessary during use, and thorough washing is recommended after handling.
