Deuteron ND 953 is a dispersing agent designed for water-based systems. It's composed of an aqueous solution of sodium polyaldehyde carboxylate. Its primary function is to disperse inorganic pigments and fillers effectively in water-based formulations while reducing viscosity in highly filled emulsion paints and plasters.
This dispersing agent is particularly useful in applications such as inorganic pigments and fillers, emulsion paints and plasters, adhesives, and pigment concentrates. It serves as a wetting and dispersing agent as well as an anti-floating additive.
The dosage of Deuteron ND 953 depends on factors such as the wetting properties of the binders and the surface area of the pigments. Typically, 0.3% to 0.7% relative to the pigment content is a good starting point for formulation trials.
Characterized by its clear brown liquid appearance, Deuteron ND 953 has a density of approximately 1.30 g/cm³ and a viscosity of around 130 mPa*s. It has an active content of approximately 43% and is primarily composed of water as the solvent.
During processing, Deuteron ND 953 is added to the binder phase before pigment addition and the dispersion/grinding process. It has a shelf life of 24 months under room temperature and dry conditions, with a storage temperature not exceeding 35°C. Discoloration may occur during storage, but it doesn't affect the product's quality.
Deuteron ND 953 is not classified as a dangerous product according to Regulation (EC) No. 1272/2008 and therefore doesn't require labeling. Detailed safety information can be found in the Safety Data Sheet and Regulatory Information Sheet available on the manufacturer's website.
