Desmodur® L 67 BA

Desmodur® L 67 BA is an aromatic polyisocyanate based on toluene diisocyanate (TDI). It is primarily used as a hardener component for air-drying two-component polyurethane coatings when combined with various Desmophen® grades or other hydroxyl-bearing substances.

Solubility/Thinnability: Desmodur® L 67 BA exhibits good compatibility with various solvents such as esters (ethyl acetate, butyl acetate, 1-methoxypropylacetate-2) and aromatic hydrocarbons (toluene, xylene, Solvesso® 100, Shellsol® A). However, solutions formed must be tested for their storage stability. It cannot be thinned with white spirit, and alcohols should be avoided due to their reaction with Desmodur® L 67 BA.

Compatibility: It is generally compatible with many polyesters, polyethers, polyacrylates, and other Desmodur® grades.

Properties/Applications: Coatings crosslinked with Desmodur® L 67 BA find applications in furniture coatings, parquet flooring, metal coatings, paper coatings, plastic coatings, and coatings for mineral substrates. The fast drying nature of the resulting coatings allows for efficient application processes.

Storage: Desmodur® L 67 BA should be stored in its original sealed Covestro container at a recommended temperature of 0°C to 30°C, protected from moisture, heat, and foreign material.

Desmodur® L 67 BA is primarily used as a hardener in coating materials or adhesives, typically in industrial or trade applications, and not suitable for DIY applications. Proper handling and protective measures should be followed as outlined in the safety data sheet.
