ADDITOL® VXW 6235

ADDITOL® VXW 6235 is a foam retardant, primarily utilized in powder coating materials for aqueous systems. It is delivered in the form of a white powder and exhibits the following properties:

• Colour/Appearance: White powder.
• Sieve Analysis: Typically with a sieving residue of less than or equal to 0.4% (analytical sieve 600 µm; 50 g).
• Residue on Ignition: Typically between 34% to 39%.
• Apparent Density: Generally ranging from 0.45 to 0.60 g/cm³.

Special features of ADDITOL® VXW 6235 include its ability to provide rapid foam retardant results, maintaining effectiveness even during the storage of aqueous powder coatings. It does not affect the flow properties of the coating and allows for the formation of pinhole-free films.

Uses of ADDITOL® VXW 6235 include incorporation into various powder coating materials for aqueous systems, such as emulsion paints, 2-component epoxy systems, plasterwork, filling compounds and sealants, flooring compounds, and adhesives. It also shows good effects in liquid non-glossy water-reducible coating systems.

In terms of processing, ADDITOL® VXW 6235 should be homogeneously distributed in the powder-based coating system through intensive mixing during the manufacturing process. After the addition of water, the foam retarder is quickly effective. The recommended dosage typically ranges from 0.2% to 1.0% on the total powder formulation.

For storage, it is advised to store ADDITOL® VXW 6235 at temperatures up to 25°C in its original containers, with a storage stability of at least 730 days.
