ADDITOL® VXL 4951 N is a defoamer used in solvent-containing paint systems. It helps prevent foam formation and blistering during the production and filling of paints. It's particularly effective in long-oil and medium-oil, air-drying alkyd resin systems, and it can be used in various types of paints including wood preservatives, vinyl resin paints, acrylic resin paints, nitrocellulose paints, and chlorinated rubber paints.
The suggested dosage is between 0.05 - 1% of Additol VXL 4951 N, calculated based on the total volume of paint. It's recommended to add it to the mill base at the beginning of paint production during pigment dispersion. Additionally, it's advised to avoid overdosage and ensure sufficient shear velocity when adding it to the ready paint to prevent cratering in the paint film.
Storage stability packed in original containers at temperatures up to 25°C is at least 730 days.
It's important to note that the product is still in the development phase for trial purposes only, so deviations might occur during the transfer into commercial manufacturing.
