Borchi® Gen 1252 is a high molecular wetting and dispersing agent designed for use in both waterborne and solventborne systems. It is a 100% acrylic ester copolymer that offers excellent wetting and deflocculation properties, making it highly effective for stabilizing pigments in various coating applications.
Characteristic Data
- Non-volatile Content: 94 - 100% (ISO 3251, 1g, 1h, 125°C)
- pH-value: 2.5 - 3.5 (ISO 976, 40% in water)
- Color: Gardner Max. 1 (ISO 4630)
- Viscosity: 1500 - 3500 mPa·s (ISO 2555, Sp.5; 20 U/min, 23°C)
Properties
- Excellent additive for wetting, dispersing, and stabilizing pigments
- Achieves excellent color strength and high gloss due to small particle size of deflocculated pigments
- Prevents settling and re-flocculation even after prolonged storage
- Completely VOC-free and amine-free
Applications
Borchi® Gen 1252 is recommended for high-quality wood, decorative, and industrial paints. It is compatible with a wide range of resins and suitable for preparing both aqueous and solventborne pigment concentrates, with or without grinding resin. It is highly effective for both organic and inorganic pigments, especially titanium dioxide.
