Borchi® Gol 1375 is a silicone-free, VOC-free, and APEO-free interface active additive designed to improve substrate wetting. It can be used in both solvent- and water-based systems and is composed of non-ionic and amphoteric surfactants. This additive is particularly effective on hydrophobic or dirt/oil contaminated surfaces, offering strong surface affinity and low-foaming properties.
Characteristic Data:
- Appearance: Clear liquid
- Water content: Approximately 12%
- Non-volatile content: 84 - 90% (ISO 3251, 2g, 1h, 105 °C)
- Color: Gardner max. 3 (ISO 4630)
- Density: 0.980 - 1.00 g/cm³ (ISO 2811, 25 °C)
- Viscosity: 90 - 110 mPa·s (ASTM D 1638, 25 °C)
- Refractive index: 1.4400 - 1.4600 (DIN 51423, 25 °C)
Properties: Borchi® Gol 1375 is characterized by a unique molecular structure that grants high affinity to hydrophobic surfaces, reduces surface tension, and enhances the wetting process. The additive exhibits low-foaming tendencies in formulations and does not negatively affect the optical properties of coatings.
Applications: Borchi® Gol 1375 is versatile and suitable for a broad range of coating applications, including clear and pigmented systems for decorative, wood, and general industrial coatings. Compatibility should be verified through preliminary laboratory trials.
Dosage:
- Recommended addition level: 0.05 to 1.50% of the total formulation.
- Optimal dosage should be determined through a series of laboratory tests.
- It should be added to the finished system for substrate wetting.
Storage:
- Store between 5 and 30 °C, protecting from weathering.
- Containers should be resealed immediately after each use.
- Separation or turbidity may occur below 10 °C (reversible and does not affect product quality).
- Coloration may occur at temperatures over 40 °C.
