KANEKA MS POLYMER® S303H is a Silyl-Terminated Polyether (STPE) that serves as a base resin for creating high-performance moisture-cure sealants, adhesives, and coatings. It offers a balanced set of properties such as durability, reactivity, and storage stability due to its polyether polymer backbone and methyldimethoxysilane functional groups. The product complies with various regulatory standards in the USA, Japan, Europe, and Canada.
Typical properties of S303H include:
- Appearance: Light yellow liquid
- Hue: G3 or less (Gardner Color Number)
- Viscosity: 10,000-15,000 cP
- Moisture content: 0.1 wt% or less / 1,000ppm or less
- pH: 6.0 to 8.0
Key features of S303H are its low viscosity and long shelf stability. When formulated into products, it results in mid-modulus, broad adhesion profile, and multi-purpose product features.
The product can be formulated using hot or cold processes and is available in different packaging options, including bulk, tote, and drum. The guarantee of shelf life is six months from delivery when stored appropriately.
The formulated properties of a representative sample of S303H-based product include:
- Skin Formation Time: 20 minutes
- Modulus 100: 122 psi / 0.84 MPa
- Hardness (Shore A): 36
- Tensile Strength: 315 psi / 2.17 MPa
- Elongation: 641%
- Compound Viscosity: 792,000 cP (Brookfield Viscometer)
S303H finds applications in joint sealants, building envelope sealants/adhesives, industrial sealants/adhesives, DIY sealants/adhesives/caulk, and transportation sealants/adhesives.
