ANTI-TERRA-250 is a controlled flocculating wetting and dispersing additive used in aqueous primers, fillers, adhesives, and sealants to prevent sedimentation of fillers and inorganic pigments. It also finds suitability in filler slurries.
Composition:
Solution of an alkylol ammonium salt of a higher molecular weight acidic polymer.
Typical Properties:
- Amine value: 41 mg KOH/g
- Acid value: 46 mg KOH/g
- Density (20 °C): 1.07 g/ml
- Non-volatile matter (10 min., 150 °C): 70%
- Solvents: Water
Applications:
- Coatings Industry
Special Features and Benefits:
- Acts by controlled flocculating the pigments in aqueous systems, preventing flooding/floating and sedimentation of pigments as well as sagging.
- Enhances thixotropy.
- May lead to a slight gloss reduction.
Recommended Use:
- Architectural coatings
- Industrial coatings
- Protective coating systems
- Automotive OEM coatings
- Leather finishes
Recommended Levels:
Additive dosage as supplied on pigment:
- Inorganic pigments: 5-10%
- Titanium dioxides: 1.5-3%
- Fillers: 1-1.5%
Incorporation and Processing Instructions:
For optimum performance, the additive must be incorporated into the millbase before addition of pigments.
Adhesives & Sealants Application:
Special Features and Benefits:
- Acts by controlled flocculating the fillers and particles in aqueous systems, reducing viscosity in filled systems and preventing sedimentation and flooding/floating.
