RHEOLATE® 208

RHEOLATE® 208 is a rheological additive in powder form, specifically designed for use in water-borne systems like latex paints. Here's an overview of its features and applications:

Incorporation: RHEOLATE 208 is best incorporated as a water gel. A typical pre-mix method involves mixing 4 parts of RHEOLATE 208 with 96 parts of water at moderate speed for 15 minutes. The pre-dispersion can be added at any stage of letdown, but addition before letdown of the mill-base is recommended.
Levels of Use: Typical use levels range from 0.1% to 0.6% on the total paint weight. The performance of RHEOLATE 208 must be evaluated in the complete paint formulation. Adjustment of the surfactant blend may be necessary to achieve optimum properties.

NUOSPERSE® W-39

NUOSPERSE® W-39 is an APE-free pigment dispersing agent manufactured by Elementis Specialties, Inc. It serves to disperse various pigments effectively in waterborne systems, aiding in achieving full color development and maximizing production output. General Information: NUOSPERSE W-39 is designed to disperse pigments efficiently in waterborne systems while stabilizing the resulting dispersion to prevent re-flocculation and viscosity drift. It is low in VOC and free of alkylphenolethoxylates.

Incorporation: NUOSPERSE W-39 should be added to a mill base prior to the addition of pigments.
Levels of Use: For coatings and inks where pigment is dispersed in a water-soluble resin, a 2% addition of NUOSPERSE W-39 on the mill base portion of the formula is recommended. In the manufacture of concentrated tinting colors, levels of 10.0% to 15% on pigment load are suggested.

DAPRO® W-77

DAPRO® W-77 is a surface tension modifier specifically designed for use in aqueous coatings and inks. Here's a breakdown of its properties and applications:

Product Description: Eastman AQ™ 48 Ultra polymer is a sulfopolyester that disperses directly in a mixture of ethanol and water at room temperature or warm water without the need for surfactants or other additives. It can form low-viscosity aqueous dispersions at concentrations up to 30% polymer solids. These dispersions have water-like viscosity at concentrations up to about 20% polymer. AQ polymers aid in the dispersion of hydrophobic ingredients in water-based formulations, and films formed from the dispersions are clear and glossy at room temperature.
AQ 48 Ultra polymer was specifically designed for use as a hair fixative in 55% VOC hairspray. It's more compatible with higher levels of alcohol than some other Eastman AQ™ polymers and has good wash-out with shampooing. It provides excellent hold under high humidity conditions in aerosol and pump hairsprays, as well as in clear styling gels. Eastman AQ 48 has a glass transition temperature (Tg) of about 48°C and is supplied as pellets.
