WorléeThix SD 6051

WorléeThix SD 6051 is a thixotropic long oil alkyd resin used primarily in the manufacture of primers, fillers, gloss paints, and silk gloss paints. It offers several benefits, particularly in applications requiring good application properties and stability against polar solvents and additives.

Key Properties:

• Non-volatile content: 55% ± 2% (1h/125°C, DIN ISO EN 3251)
• Phthalic anhydride content: ~23%
• Oil type: Special mixed fatty acids
• Oil content: ~60%
• Acid value (on solids): Max. 15 (DIN EN ISO 2114)
• Color (Gardner, delivery form): Max. 10 (DIN ISO 4630)
• Viscosity: 2,500 - 4,000 mPa⋅s (Rheometer, 20°C, C 35/1, 391 s⁻¹)
• Delivery form: 55% in dearomatized hydrocarbons (HC 160 - 200)

Compatibility:

WorléeThix SD 6051 is compatible with most medium and long oil air-drying alkyd resins, as well as common maleic and phenolic modified hard resins.

Solubility:

It is soluble in all common solvents, making it versatile for various applications.

Driers Recommendation:

• Calcium (Ca): 0.10 - 0.20%
• Cobalt (Co): 0.05 - 0.07% (Metal content calculated on solid alkyd resin)

Storage and Handling:

• Shelf life: Six months from the day of delivery when stored in the originally closed barrel at temperatures between +5 to +25°C.
• Pumping properties: Shows good pumping properties at approximately 60°C.
