SYNOLAC® 272 X 60

SYNOLAC® 272 X 60 is a type of fast-drying, short-oil alkyd produced by Arkema Coating Resins, designed for use in air drying and stoving systems. It offers several benefits and is suitable for various industrial coating applications, such as fast-drying primers, fillers, single-layer coatings, and finishes. It can be used in combination with highly reactive amino formaldehyde resins for stoving systems, including drum coatings.

Formulation Guidelines:

• Can be combined with aliphatic or aromatic polyisocyanates to formulate two-pack systems.
• Maintains good recoatability in primers, particularly without metal driers.
• Compatible with various PVC-copolymers, allowing for the formulation of fast-drying primers and coatings with excellent anti-corrosive performance.
• Easily pigmented with titanium dioxide and other color pigments.
• Recommendations for the use of driers vary based on the formulation.

Solubility and Compatibility:

• Completely soluble in aromatic hydrocarbons, esters, glycol ethers, glycol ether esters, and ketones.
• Partially soluble in alcohols and aliphatic hydrocarbons.
• Compatible with short oil and some medium oil alkyds, urea- and melamine formaldehyde resins, nitrocellulose, ketone resins, and some PVC-copolymers.

Storage and Handling:

• Should be stored indoors in the original, unopened, and undamaged container, in a dry place at a temperature not exceeding 30°C.
• Exposure to direct sunlight should be avoided.
• Shelf life is typically 9 months from the shipping date under proper storage conditions.
