SETALUX® D A 160 X

SETALUX® D A 160 X is a polyisocyanate cross-linking acrylic resin primarily used in combination with aliphatic polyisocyanates to formulate two-component polyurethane coatings. Here's an overview of its specifications, properties, and applications:

Uses:

• Primarily used in combination with aliphatic polyisocyanates to formulate two-component polyurethane coatings with good light-fastness and resistance to chalking.

Form Supplied:

• Approx. 60% in xylene

• Viscosity: 1800 ± 500 mPa·s
• Acid value (supply form): 4 ± 2 mg KOH/g
• Hydroxyl content (supply form): 1.3 - 1.9%

• Water content: ≤ 0.1%

Properties/Application:

• Used primarily in combination with aliphatic polyisocyanates to formulate air- and force-drying top coats as well as anti-corrosion coatings and top coats for steel in civil and hydraulic engineering applications.
• Coatings can be applied by brushing, rolling, and airless spraying.
• They have good weather stability and resistance to water, washing solutions, and chemicals, stable up to approximately 150°C, although yellowing may occur at this temperature.

Solubility/Thinnability:

• Can be thinned to a resin content of 30% using ketones, esters, ether esters, toluene, xylene, and solvent naphtha 100. Solutions formed must be tested for storage stability.

Compatibility:

• Compatible with certain aliphatic polyisocyanates and other products like Desmodur® and SETATHANE® D 1150. Compatibility testing is advisable.

Storage:

• Should be stored in originally sealed containers at temperatures not exceeding 30°C.

Shelf Life:

• Standard shelf life is 730 days from the date of manufacturing, but may be extended upon re-testing by QC.
