Rheotech™ 3500 is an acrylic associative thickener designed for adjusting the rheology of semi-gloss and matt dispersion paints. Here are its typical characteristics and properties:

Description:
Rheotech™ 3500 provides improved rheological behavior to semi-gloss and matt dispersion paints. Its associative character makes it highly effective at medium and high shear rates. It is particularly useful for matching a given Stormer viscosity (medium shear viscosity), thereby enhancing in-can consistency and perceived paint quality compared to cellulosic ethers. It can be used alone or in combination with other thickeners like acrylic thickeners or polyurethane thickeners to achieve desired rheological properties.

Recommended Addition Level:

• As sole thickener in matt dispersion paints or combined with a Newtonian thickener: 0.1% to 0.6% (dry on total formulation weight).
• Combined with a low shear effective thickener in high PVC dispersion paints: 0.1% to 0.4% (dry on total formulation weight).

Handling & Storage:
Store between 5°C and 40°C, protect from frost and weathering, and shield from direct sun exposure. Once opened, reseal immediately. Use within 6 months from delivery. Surface drying and slight sedimentation are normal but do not affect performance if solids content meets specifications. Filter the product before use if necessary.

Processing Instructions:
Rheotech™ 3500 is a liquid, low viscous, and ready-to-use product. It should be added after binder incorporation, preferably at the end of formulation, to better control the final viscosity.
