PHENODUR® PR 612/80B

PHENODUR® PR 612/80B is a curable phenolic resin supplied in butanol. Here's an overview:

• Curable phenolic resin.

Form of Delivery (f.o.d.):

• Supplied as 80% in butanol (80B).

Uses:

• Utilized in heat-curable phenolic/epoxide resin combinations for high-adhesion, chemically resistant protective coatings for apparatus, vessels, pipelines, and wire insulation varnishes.

Dilutability:

• Compatible with various solvents/diluents including xylene, methoxypropyl acetate, white spirit, butyl acetate, methyl ethyl ketone, methoxypropanol, methyl isobutyl ketone, ethanol, ethyl acetate, and butanol.

Compatibility:

• Compatible with other binders in different proportions.

Properties and Uses:

• Used as a curing resin in combination with high molecular weight epoxide resins for interior can coating systems, electro-insulation varnishes, and magnetic wire enamels.
• Can be used for chemically resistant protective coatings on vessels, apparatus, and pipelines.
• Suitable for wire coatings and electro-insulation varnishes in combination with (poly) vinyl formal resins.

Processing:

• Can be diluted with glycol ether, ester, diacetone alcohol, and ketones.
• Can be pigmented with inert pigments and fillers.
• Stoving conditions depend on the required coating thickness and application but typically range between 10 to 30 minutes at 180 - 220°C.

Catalysis:

• Addition of acidic catalysts increases reactivity, film hardness, and adhesion on aluminum and tinplate.

Storage:

• Stable when stored at temperatures up to 25°C in original containers for approximately 730 days.

Distinguishing Features:

• Less reactive and lower viscosity compared to other PHENODUR® grades.
