NUOSPERSE® FX 609 is a pigment dispersing agent designed for use in filler/pigment concentrates to ensure extremely stable pigment dispersions for aqueous systems. Here's a breakdown of its features and usage:
General Information: NUOSPERSE® FX 609 is a hazy liquid with an active content of approximately 45% and a pH of 7-8 in a 5% solution in water. It is a neutralized salt of a polymeric carboxylic acid, specially designed to provide maximum stabilizing properties against flocculation.
Physical Properties:
Applications and Properties: NUOSPERSE® FX 609 acts as a deflocculant, reducing the viscosity of the pigment paste and allowing the dispersion of highly concentrated pastes. It ensures stable suspensions with low viscosity over time, even if left unstirred. It is intended for pigmented applications where the particle size is at least 80% less than one micron.
Incorporation: The quantity of NUOSPERSE® FX 609 to be added should be determined experimentally and depends on the surface characteristics of the pigments, fillers, and the milling method. It is recommended to start by adding NUOSPERSE® FX 609 with water, then add the pigment or filler.
