Interior & Exterior White Plaster

This formulation is designed for an interior and exterior plaster, suitable for creating a white plaster that can be used both indoors and outdoors. It is based on the Mowilith* LDM 1865 Vinyl Acetate/Ethylene emulsion.

Components and Their Functions:

1. Water
   • Function: Acts as the primary solvent and vehicle to dissolve and carry other components.
2. Sodium Polyphosphate (Calgon N)*
   • Function: Serves as a wetting and dispersing agent, helping to evenly distribute the pigments and extenders within the mixture.
3. Sodium Polyacrylate (Dispex AA 4140)*
   • Function: Functions as an additional wetting and dispersing agent to enhance the dispersion of solid particles.
4. Biocide (Nuosept BM11)*
   • Function: Provides in-can preservation to prevent microbial growth during storage.
5. Titanium Dioxide Pigment (Tioxide TR 92)*
   • Function: Acts as the primary pigment, giving the plaster its white color and opacity.
6. Calcium Carbonate (Omyacarb 2 GU)*
   • Function: Used as an extender to increase the volume of the plaster and improve its mechanical properties.
7. Clay (China Clay Speswhite)*
   • Function: Serves as an additional extender, improving the consistency and workability of the plaster.
8. Talcum (Plus Talc H15)*
   • Function: Functions as an extender, enhancing the smoothness and application properties of the plaster.
9. Vinyl Acetate/Ethylene Emulsion (Mowilith LDM 1865)*
   • Function: Acts as the binder, providing adhesion and forming a continuous film upon drying.
10. Calcium Carbonate (Carolith 0.2 – 0.5)*
    • Function: Serves as an extender, contributing to the bulk and physical properties of the plaster.
11. Calcium Carbonate (Carolith 1.5 – 2.0)*
    • Function: Functions as an extender, further increasing the volume and improving the mechanical characteristics of the plaster.
12. Water
    • Function: Added as a vehicle in the final let-down stage to achieve the desired consistency and application properties.

Preparation Procedure:

1. Initial Dispersion:
   • Disperse the initial mixture (water, wetting/dispersing agents, biocide, pigment, and extenders) for 15 minutes at a speed of 2 meters per second.
2. Final Let-Down:
   • After initial dispersion, add the Vinyl Acetate/Ethylene emulsion, additional extenders, and water to complete the formulation.
