IMPRAFIX® TRL SOLUTION

Imprafix® TRL Solution is an aromatic-aliphatic polyisocyanate based on a combination of toluene diisocyanate (TDI) and hexamethylene diisocyanate (HDI). It serves as a crosslinker for two-component systems, particularly for products like Impranil® C, Impranil® C solution, and Impranil® CHW. Here's a summary of its specifications:

Characterization: Aromatic-aliphatic polyisocyanate based on TDI/HDI, supplied as approximately 60% in butyl acetate.

  • Non-volatile content: 60.0 ± 2.0%
  • Viscosity (at 23°C): 2,200 ± 1,000 mPa·s
  • Color value: ≤ 4
  • Monomeric TDI + HDI in supply form: < 5%

Special properties: Coatings crosslinked with Imprafix® TRL solution show less yellowing upon exposure to light compared to those crosslinked with Imprafix® TH solution. It is preferred for the formulation of pale coatings and for double-sided coatings to prevent sticking.

Solubility / thinnability: Compatible with solvents such as ethyl acetate, butyl acetate, and 1-methoxypropylacetate-2. Prolonged storage of solutions with lower binder content may result in turbidity and sedimentation.

Applications: Similar to Imprafix® TH solution, stirred into the coating before use to maximize pot life and ensure even distribution.

Storage: Recommended to be stored in its original sealed Covestro container at a temperature between 0 - 30°C, protected from moisture, heat, and foreign material. Storage at high temperatures may increase viscosity and reduce the NCO content.
