Deuteron OG 330 is an additive designed to enhance slip, abrasion resistance, and rub resistance in water-based systems. It is an aqueous dispersion of polyethylene wax modified with PTFE (Polytetrafluoroethylene). This product typically appears as a white dispersion with a viscosity of approximately 600 mPa·s and a specific weight of around 1.02 g/cm³.
With a concentration of approximately 46% polyethylene/PTFE and 4% isopropanol, Deuteron OG 330 is formulated to improve surface properties effectively while maintaining ease of handling during paint manufacturing. It's particularly suitable for water-based clear lacquers and topcoats where the presence of PTFE is acceptable, such as air-drying and stoving enamels, aqueous acrylic lacquers, and inks.
The recommended dosage of Deuteron OG 330 ranges from 1.0% to 3.0%, although the exact dosage should be determined through trial formulations. It can be incorporated into the lacquer using a high-speed stirrer before viscosity adjustment. In many cases, adding the product to the mill base doesn't cause issues, which can optimize the production process.
Deuteron OG 330 has a shelf life of at least 24 months when stored in its original tightly closed containers at room temperature. While phase separation may occur during longer storage periods, stirring the product can remedy this. It should be stored frost-free.
Regarding safety regulations, Deuteron OG 330 is not classified as a dangerous product according to Regulation (EC) No. 1272/2008 and therefore doesn't require labeling.
