Particle Size Distribution: DV. 1 min: 1.8 µm / DV. 9 max: 15.0 µm
Description:
CRAYVALLAC® SLX facilitates the low-temperature manufacture of moisture-curing methoxysilane systems, offering excellent sag and slump resistance. Its particles form an interacting network of crystalline fibers upon application, resulting in shear-thinning rheology. This rheological behavior provides low viscosity during application by extrusion and very high viscosity afterward, ensuring ease of application followed by superior sag and slump resistance.
Recommended Addition Level:
1-5% under heat and shear.
Standard Packaging:
Available in 15 kg bags. Other packaging options may be available upon request.
Handling & Storage:
Store in the original containers in a dry place at temperatures between 5°C (41°F) and 30°C (86°F). Avoid exposure to direct sunlight or frost. Use within 48 months from production under these conditions.
Processing Instructions:
CRAYVALLAC® SLX particles are activated during processing, forming an interacting network of crystalline fibers that contribute to the desired shear-thinning rheology. Efficient activation is crucial for achieving the desired sag and slump resistance. The successful manufacture of methoxysilane-based sealants requires careful control of moisture levels throughout production and storage. Pre-drying of pigments and extenders or the use of special low-moisture content ingredients is recommended to prevent moisture-related issues.
