"ANTI-TERRA-U 100." It is a wetting and dispersing additive designed for use in solvent-borne industrial and architectural coatings to stabilize inorganic pigments.
Product Data:
- Composition: Salt of unsaturated polyamine amides and low-molecular acidic polyesters
- Density: 1.01 g/ml (at 20°C)
- Acid Value: 50 mg KOH/g
- Amine Value: 35 mg KOH/g
- Bio-based Carbon Content (ASTM D6866): 74%
Storage and Transportation:
- It is recommended to mix well before use.
- Separation or turbidity may occur during storage and transportation. Warm to 30–60 °C and mix well if this happens.
Applications:
- Coatings industry
Special Features and Benefits:
- Through steric stabilization, the additive induces pigments to deflocculate.
- It helps achieve high gloss and improves color strength due to the small particle size of the deflocculated pigments.
- Transparency and hiding power are increased while viscosity is reduced, enhancing leveling and allowing for higher pigmentation levels.
Recommended Use:
- Particularly recommended for architectural coatings and protective coating systems when minimizing the amount of organic solvents in formulations is desired.
Recommended Levels:
- Amount of additive (as supplied) on pigment:
- Inorganic pigments: 0.5–1%
- Titanium dioxide: 0.2–0.5%
- Organic pigments: 1–5%
Incorporation and Processing Instructions:
- For optimal performance, incorporate the additive into the millbase before adding pigments.
