DESMODUR® E XP 2727

Desmodur® E XP 2727 is an aromatic polyisocyanate prepolymer based on diphenylmethane diisocyanate (MDI). Here's a summary of its properties and applications:

• Characterization: It's designed for use in one and two-component polyurethane and polyurea coatings, adhesives, and sealants.
• Form Supplied: This product is a solvent-free liquid of medium viscosity.
• Specification:
  • NCO content: Approximately 15.25%
  • Viscosity (at 23°C): Approximately 800 mPa·s
• Solubility/Thinnability: Desmodur® E XP 2727 can be formulated into solutions using polyurethane grade solvents (< 0.05% water), although it's recommended to test the solutions for stability.
• Compatibility: It's generally compatible with Desmophen®/Baycoll® polyols, other Desmodur® products, and flexibilizers.
• Properties/Applications: Suitable for moisture-curing polyurethane coatings, adhesives, and sealants, Desmodur® E XP 2727 can also serve as a hardener for two-component polyurethane and polyurea coatings, either alone or in combination with other polyisocyanates.
• Storage: It should be stored in its original sealed Covestro container at temperatures between 10°C and 30°C, protected from moisture, heat, and foreign material.

Like other products in the Desmodur® line, Desmodur® E XP 2727 is labeled as a Trial Product, indicating limited experience with its behavior during processing or use. Testing is recommended to determine its suitability for specific applications. Additionally, its use in medical devices or contact with food or cosmetics requires prior approval from Covestro.
