Ecodis™ NP is a dispersing agent specifically designed for water-based systems. Here are its typical characteristics and properties:
Nature: Polyacrylate Sodium Salt
Appearance: Yellowish aqueous solution
Solid Content: 42%
Active Content: 42%
pH: 8
Specific Gravity: 1.31
Neutralization Type: Sodium
Solvent: Water
Description:
Ecodis™ NP is formulated to disperse and stabilize a wide range of fillers, extenders, and inorganic pigments. It enables the creation of mill bases with high solids content while maintaining low viscosity, achievable with common stirring or deflocculating tools. This product is particularly suitable for dispersing fine calcium carbonates, clays, and high-value pigments like titanium dioxide across various water-based formulations. Ecodis™ NP ensures excellent storage stability even in formulations stored for extended periods at higher temperatures, which is not typical of inorganic additives such as phosphate-based dispersants. It contributes to reducing formulation costs due to its high effectiveness and the reduction of grinding time.
Recommended Addition Level:
The required amount varies from 0.1% to 0.5% of active ingredients based on the total weight of mineral particles. Alternatively, formulation trials can start with 0.4% to 0.6% of Ecodis™ NP as delivered, based on the total formulation weight.
Standard Packaging:
Available in:
Handling & Storage:
Store between 5°C and 40°C, protected from weathering. Once opened, reseal the packaging immediately after use. Use within 12 months from delivery under these conditions.
Processing Instructions:
Ecodis™ NP should be added to water before the incorporation of fillers, extenders, and pigments. The optimum level can be determined for each pigment blend by measuring the evolution of viscosity of the pigment dispersion in water as a function of the amount of dispersant. The optimum use level helps achieve the lowest viscosity.
