ADDITOL LED 01

Mercapto modified polyester acrylate resin designed for use as a co-resin in UV curable formulations to convert them into UV LED curable systems. Here's an overview of its properties and applications:

Introduction:

• ADDITOL® LED 01 acts as a co-resin in UV curable formulations to enhance surface cure when cured with UV LED lamps.

Performance Data:

• Used to increase the surface cure of UV curable formulations when cured with UV LED lamps.
• A typical starting point formulation (SPF) is provided, showing the addition of ADDITOL® LED 01 to improve curing.

Physical Data:

• Characterized by a transparent liquid appearance with a pink to red color.
• Dynamic viscosity at 25°C is 210 mPa.s.
• Density is 1.17 g/cm3.

Compatibility:

• Compatible with a broad range of selected resins of different chemical families, including urethane acrylates, polyester, and epoxy acrylates.
• Not compatible with all resins, and it's recommended to check compatibility before use. Resins containing amines have limited compatibility with ADDITOL® LED 01.

Suggested Application:

• Developed for UV LED applications but suitable for other low-energy curing applications such as UV-A curing.
• Can be used to reduce oxygen inhibition in UV/EB curable systems when cured with standard medium-pressure Hg lamps.

Storage and Handling:

• Avoid exposure to temperatures exceeding 40°C for prolonged periods or direct sunlight to prevent uncontrollable polymerization.
• Store in suitable containers such as stainless steel, amber glass, amber polyethylene, or baked phenolic lined containers.
• Do not store under an oxygen-free atmosphere. Use dry air to displace material removed from the container.
